William has been writing and teaching music since 1998 when he wrote his 1st trumpet duet in the 11th grade.  Slowly morphing into a drummer from a brass player, he found a new love for mallets and percussion.  As he played and learned music from others he wanted to become the teacher and writer that others played and learned music from. 

 

High School Marching Band:
Being a part of the Hopkinsville High School Marching Tiger Band William marched trumpet for all four years of his high school career and upon his senior year he decided to play french horn for the concert season.  He also attended other activities in band such as Solo and Ensembles and Jazz Band.  In the beginning of his junior year he became a part of the Hopkinsville High School Indoor Drum Line program, finding a new love playing mallets in the front ensemble.

Indoor Drum Line:
In 1998 William became a part of the "Music City Mystique" Independent World indoor percussion ensemble playing mallets in the front ensemble, helping Mystique become the 1998's SCGC (Southeastern Color Guard Circuit) and WGI (Winter Guard International) 1st place Champions.  Later in 1999 he become a member of the "Eklipse Winter Guard & Percussion Ensembles" as it was their 1st year out in Independent Open also playing mallets in the front ensemble.  Eklipse would go on to win:

- 1st place in SCGC in 1999.

- 1st place in SCGC and WGI in 2001.

- 1st place in SCGC in 2002 and 2nd place in WGI.

Nearing the end of his Indoor career he completed his run with "Mo)xie Audio Theater" as it was their 1st year out in Independent World in 2004 helping them win 2nd place in SCGC while playing mallets in the front ensemble.

 

Drum Corps:
William was a part of the "Madison Scouts" out of Madison Wisconsin for the 2003 'Gold Green and Red' tour.  While also his age out year, he feels blessed to be a part of a legacy group in the DCI (Drum Corps International) activity.  While playing his euphonium he helped the Madison Scouts end their season sitting 8th at DCI Championships.

Teachings:
After his 2004 year with Mo)xie Audio Theater, William returned to Mo)xie to teach the front ensemble he once was a part of guiding them to win 3rd place in Independent World class in SCGC.

(Kentucky Schools)
In 2002 William taught the front ensemble of the "Russellville Marching Panthers".  Gaining great respect in the teaching world by 2002 he would later on also teach the "Christian County Marching Colonels" front ensemble.  From 2003 - 2005 he went back to his home school with the "Hopkinsville Marching Tiger Band" helping the drum line and teaching the front ensemble.  In 2006 he taught the drum line & front ensemble of the "Todd County Marching Rebels" and that same year he also helped teach the drum line and front ensemble for the "Ohio County Marching Eagles".  William then went back to the Russellville Marching Panthers to teach and write for them from 2007 to 2013.  Currently he is the Co Percussion Caption Head with the "Warren East Marching Raiders"!

(Tennessee Schools)
While eager to finally teach in a different state, William started his 1st teaching job helping the "Northwest High School Marching Vikings" in 2001.  In 2007 he came back to Tennessee to teach the drum line and front ensemble for the "Northeast Marching Eagles".  In 2008 he accepted a great privilege in becoming a part of the "Central High School Marching Warrior's" 1st year EVER doing marching band in Memphis, Tennessee teaching and writing the front ensemble and drum line percussion music.

Marching Band, Indoor Drum Line/Winter Guard and Drum Corps have become a big part of William's life!  He's become big at writing Front Ensemble & Drum Line music for high school marching bands and indoor drum lines; also writing drill, cutting and or creating music for winter guards.  William hopes the music he shares inspires, motivates, and becomes a great part of your life!
